Gulf Breeze Elem. raises funds for vets
Gulf Breeze Elementary School students are participating in the fourth annual Jets for Vets, a paper airplane contest. Students have been studying the principles of flight and the Honor Flight program. Funds are raised through the purchase of special paper for crafting their paper airplanes.
Classroom competitions are ongoing and an assembly for the winners will be held on Thursday with Pearl Harbor veteran Cass Phillips as the guest speaker. Assembly times are 8:30 to 9:10 a.m., 9:15 to 9:50 a.m., and 9:55 to 10:30 a.m.
Following the Jets For Vets assemblies, the school will host a catered lunch to honor veterans in the community. Food will be provided by the Sodexho kitchen staff.
